Listen。 I am all in for a Doc Hollywood (Michael J。 Fox movie c。 1991) retelling EVERY。 TIME。 Abby Jimenez is an auto-buy for me。 She hits every time and every time it includes something other than just romance。 It’s that ‘yes and’ we all look for and this one will make your heart hurt。 5 Enthusiastic Stars。

What a wonderful love story! It captivated you from the first page。 I loved this book so much I finished it in 2 days。 I couldn’t put it down。 Absolutely loved how quickly their connection happened!

I literally can’t even express how much I loved this book。 Daniel and Alexis’ love story is seriously for the record books。 It’s amazing and had me hooked the entire time。 It was sweet, funny, and serious in all the moments it needed to be。 Abby Jimenez’s writing is so beautiful and it’s books like these that remind me of why I love to read and write。

Hannah

100% her best book yet!

Super cute romance。 ER doctor meets small town boy and they fall in love。 I wanted to punch Alexis' parents in the face throughout the whole book but I'm glad things ended the way they did。 Baby goats are involved。 Can't go wrong there 😜。 Super cute romance。 ER doctor meets small town boy and they fall in love。 I wanted to punch Alexis' parents in the face throughout the whole book but I'm glad things ended the way they did。 Baby goats are involved。 Can't go wrong there 😜。 。。。more

I won this from a Goodreads giveaway! That has never happened before! :) This was adorable and I flew through it in one afternoon/night。 Loved the references to other characters from this author, looooooved all the Princess Bride quotes sprinkled throughout the book, loved best friend Bri, and I LOVED that there was an epilogue。 (view spoiler)[I just did not love how longggg it took Alexis to realize that DUH, of COURSE she had to be with Daniel and find a way to make the rest of it work。 (hide I won this from a Goodreads giveaway! 4。5 StarsYay! It's been quite a while since I've read a romance in which I related so strongly with the characters。 I felt like Abby Jimenez was describing my family。 The main character is no longer planning to marry the physician that she had been dating for years, her father is a narcissistic physician who expects his physician children to follow in his footsteps and can't understand why they would want to practice medicine differently than he did。 That's where the similarities ended。 Fortunat 4。5 StarsYay! Incredibly funny and heartwarmingI think this is the 2nd Abby Jimenez book I love so much after The Friend Zone。 There's so much heart and humor in this story。 Loved how the characters evolved and conquered their personal conflicts。 What an amazing read! Although I enjoyed Ms。 Jimenez's other books, I can't seem to "get" into this one。 I could tell early on that Ms。 Jimenez was going to take on a serious issue and I wasn't in the mood for it - no matter how well written it is。 Sadly with so many books to read, I'm skipping this one。 But I will look forward to future books。 Although I enjoyed Ms。 Jimenez's other books, I can't seem to "get" into this one。 I could tell early on that Ms。 Jimenez was going to take on a serious issue and I wasn't in the mood for it - no matter how well written it is。 Sadly with so many books to read, I'm skipping this one。 But I will look forward to future books。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book and appreciated that we got a bit of a peek at the characters from previous books。 Well, one character。 And that Jimenez incorporated Nadia's Cakes which I totally didn't realize was her business IRL。 The characters were fun, and I loved the way that magic was interwoven into the whole story and the town。 I have to admit that there were times when I found Ali's relationship with her parents weird, because she is almost 40 and still has a dad who speaks to her like she' I really enjoyed this book and appreciated that we got a bit of a peek at the characters from previous books。 Well, one character。 And that Jimenez incorporated Nadia's Cakes which I totally didn't realize was her business IRL。 The characters were fun, and I loved the way that magic was interwoven into the whole story and the town。 I have to admit that there were times when I found Ali's relationship with her parents weird, because she is almost 40 and still has a dad who speaks to her like she's a child。 But I guess that's also believable given that her dad is such a self-centred egomaniac。 What I liked best about this whole piece was the magic and the fairy tale elements。 I went around singing Little Mermaid songs before I started the book and then I made the connection between the fairy tales/Disney and the story。 Which made for an a-ha moment for the title and my constant singing。 Fun read and I'm looking forward to Brie's story and how that evolves, although curious if it will be Doug or someone else because we didn't really get anyone else in the book to consider。 。。。more

This is my first Jimenez and I found it absolutely delightful。 Rich characters with real conflicts and satisfying solutions。 I laughed out loud multiple times and even cried。 I’ll be seeking out other titles of hers now!

Such a cute and funny story, just as I expected! I loved the reference to Nadia cakes! Abby writes the perfect amount of fun with a splash of seriousness and a lot of romance!

Amanda

All the feels for this book 😭🥰 I don’t know how Abby managed to pack amazing writing, lovable characters, hard hitting topics, and an amazing love story all into one novel…but she DID THAT。

Loooooooove these narrators。 The perfect pair for a steamy romance。I give this 4。5 stars, down from 5 due to the side story about domestic violence。Still well worth a listen!

Big deal female doctors meets cute country man ten years younger and fulls in love。 She doesn't think he can fit into her world。 This book is so funny, playful, and heartwarming。 You want to spend every minute with these wonderful characters from start to finish。 I love this book。 It will definitely be on the Writing and Illustrating 2022 Book Favorite list。 Big deal female doctors meets cute country man ten years younger and fulls in love。 She doesn't think he can fit into her world。 This book is so funny, playful, and heartwarming。 You want to spend every minute with these wonderful characters from start to finish。 I love this book。 It will definitely be on the Writing and Illustrating 2022 Book Favorite list。 。。。more

IS THIS ABBY AT HER BEST? OR IS THERE BETTER TO COME?!Love is an understatement here。 Holy crap, guys。 This book was DELIGHTFUL。 I was obsessed with these mains from page one。 The world Abby paints (while tying it into some familiar names!) was nothing short of wonderful。 You will love this。 If you don't like overcoming obstacles, baby goats in PJs, ridiculously cute scraggy dogs, hot country guys and mixing society levels- skip it。 But who am I kidding? What happens when the person who turns out to be your soul mate does not fit in your life whatsoever? This was a sweet story about love, but also about learning to prioritize what matters in your life and not to be ruled by the demands and expectations of others。

Hailey

A quick and cheesy but sweet book- I read it during a flight and it was perfect to pass the time。 I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy the authors other books。

This book was so cute that my heart hurts after putting it down。 I laughed out loud so many times throughout it。 Hunter (the adorable doggo) is the same kind of dog my best friend has。

I loved this book so so much!! Probably the best one yet I’ve read by Abby。 It’s witty, it’s funny, it’s the right amount of spicy。 My heart literally broke in certain parts and got me all teary eyed。 The way it deals with emotional abuse as well as physical abuse was done as well as you could with a book like this。 I felt the confusion, the humiliation。 I loved seeing both women come into their strength and value themselves。 I also loved how Doug’s friends handle his depression。 As someone who I loved this book so so much!!
